This session is organised as pilot session in the framework of the Dialogue Café Subotica project. It aims at sharing knowledge on how to develop and to create opportunities for promoting youth participation and active role in managing conflict situations by strengthening their social skills, capacity of dialogue, mediation, negotiation and cooperation. In this framework, good practices and tools implemented in this field by international organisations, NGOs, local and national authorities, will be presented during the session in order to promote mutual learning and good practices exchange.

In this framework, good practices and tools implemented in this field by international organisations, NGOs, local and national authorities, will be presented during the session in order to promote mutual learning and good practices exchange.
The session will take place on 17 May 2017 from 15h to 17h London time and will be organised in the framework of the launching process of Dialogue Café Subotica. The third Dialogue Café to be opened in Serbia thanks to the partnership developed with United Nations Associations Serbia – UNA Serbia and the cooperation of local partners.
At the session the participating groups of young members from Novi Pazar and Belgrade that have participated in the activities of the Dialogue Cafes in the two cities. They will with the youth of Subotica share their experiences participating in the DC activities, as well as have an intercultural meeting from the different cities and regions in Serbia.

Dialogue Café Serbia is coordinating a session on “Gender Equality and the empowerment of women´s rights” with the aim of supporting Gender equality and parity as both are key pillars to ensure a sustainable future for the world.
The session will address some of major challenges faces globally by women by promoting experiences and knowledge sharing between the countries and cities involved in the session. The event will take place in the framework of the Cycle “Women´s Empowerment: sharing challenges and good practices” organised by Dialogue Café.

Dialogue Café network is organising a exciting session for changemakers and social transformers; people who invest their creativity, knowledge, competences and love for bringing social change to our societies. This amazing exchange is the first session organised in the framework of a new project launched by Dialogue Cafe, a cycle on social entrepreneurship.
The session will take place next 02 February 2017 from 15h to 16h30 London time.
Dialogue Cafés joining this initiative are Cidade de Praia (Pedro Pires Institute for Leadership), Evora (ADRAL), Lisbon (Calouste Gulbekian Foundation), and Novi Pazar (Center Duga).

In the framework of a cooperation agreement established between United Nations Associations of Serbia and the Dialogue Café Association, the opening of two new Dialogue Cafe in Serbia (Belgrade and Subotica) are planned to be open in Serbia further to the one that is already operational in Novi Pazar. Thanks to this amazing partnership, the Dialogue Cafe network will be strengthen as a whole and its serbian leg consolidated. Dialogue Café is based on the radical but simple idea that people have many things in common and given the opportunity, they will explore their common interests, sparking collaborations and stimulating ideas that address the major issues of today. These kinds of conversations and collaborations can lead to new ways of thinking and doing: they can empower individuals and communities, break down prejudice and misconceptions and promote greater understanding and co-operation across cultures.
Dialogue Café is a low cost, low carbon solution to the challenge of connecting people who want to share and collaborate for common interests in other parts of the world. It also provides a unique experience. The technology we use at Dialogue Café, TelePresence, links people through life-size high definition video and sound, allowing them to talk and meet in a context that is as ‘real’ as possible despite being located on different sides of the world. As such, Dialogue Café plays a role as a bridge to the rest of the world: it enables local hosts, and local civil society groups, to share their work, knowledge and ideas and learn from others from around the world.
The Official Opening of Dialogue Cafe Belgrade will take place next 13th December 2016 from 15h to 17h London time. The event will include two parts: firstly, the official opening of DC Belgrade; secondly, a session on “Interethnic and interreligious trust, dialogue and cooperation – the importance of respecting human rights“.

From the local to the global level, women´s leadership and participation in society are restricted. Women are underrepresented at the political and economic level, as well as leading positions, whether in elected office, the civil service, the private sector or the Academia. This occurs despite their proven abilities as leaders and agents of change, and their right to participate equally in democratic governance. Women face several obstacles to participating in public life. Structural barriers through discriminatory laws and institutions still limit women´s options to run for office. Capacity gaps mean women are less likely than men to have the education, contacts and resources needed to become effective leaders. As the 2011 UN General Assembly resolution on women´s political participation notes, “Women in every part of the world continue to be largely marginalized from the political sphere, often as a result of discriminatory laws, practices, attitudes and gender stereotypes, low levels of education, lack of access to health care and the disproportionate effect of poverty on women”. Individual women have overcome these obstacles with great acclaim, and often to the benefit of society at large. But for women as a whole, the playing field needs to be level, opening opportunities for all[1].
The first session of this cycle will be focused on the challenges we confront as society in fighting violence against women with the objective of promoting good practices, as well as disseminate testimonials of women.
The first session will take place on 28 September from 16h to 17h30 (London time). Dialogue Cafes participating in this cycle are: Dialogue Café Cidade de Praia, Dialogue Café Évora, and Dialogue Café Lisboa.
