June, summer´s door, will be an intensive month for Dialogue Cafe Network.

Focusing on youth, digital innovation, and social and creative entrepreneurship, we will continue to work on the challenges of journalism nowadays.

The third session of the cycle focused on changing journalism will allow us to discuss about the new whistleblowers and the role of journalists in the digital age will finally take place in September. Follow us to know more about this interesting session.

Dialogue Cafe Network will also bring some focus to technological and digital innovation by sharing experiences and good practices on the future of textile production (5 June) among Novi Pazar, Rio de Janeiro, Florence and Lisbon.

Moreover, we start our cycle of sessions on how entrepreneurship and creative hubs can promote social change. The first session (25 May) will bring people around the world to debate about the link between creative entrepreneurship and social change. Following this introductory session, the next exchanges will focus on research, manager´s competences, good practices and networking opportunities.

Youth, youth will be an important topic of discussion in June. On the one hand, Dialogue Cafe Association will lauch a 5 sessions training cycle focused on youth transforming conflict (19 June). On the other hand, Dialogue Cafe of Novi Pazar will organise a panel on youth participation in decision making processes (22 June).

Can countries in transition and development fully go green?, May 26, Évora, Lisbon, Novi Pazar, Rio de Janeiro

The Dialogue Café Novi Pazar was funded as result of the UN project “Improving Human Security for Vulnerable Communities in southwest Serbia”. A programme of sessions have been led by Dialogue Cafe Novi Pazar since its official opening on different issues of interest such as : interethnic and interreligious trust, minority rights, non-discrimination and gender equality and the integration of minorities and community cohesion, with the aim of promoting exchange of good practices with other EU countries.

DC Novi Pazar will also lead the organisation of a session on: “Can countries in transition/development really go fully green and if yes, how best?”(May, 26 from 14h00 to 15h30 London time). 

You might think why? why we need to discuss about green societies? Why we need to think green? Well…

We depend on nature. As our societies, economies and cultures have developed, humankind has influenced the environment greatly. As a matter of fact, many nations have built strong industries that helped their economic and social development significantly making them among the most developed nations of the world today. However, our planet suffered in the process. We have created enough problems including greenhouse effects, anthropogenic transformation of ecosystems, natural disasters etc.

Meanwhile, developed nations are today able to go green and prevent the further deterioration of the environment around us. However, is that the case with the developing world? While industrialized nations have the conformity of going green in their already developed economies, is this the case of developing countries and countries in transition? Is it possible to develop a country’s economy as well with green economies as well as it is with traditional sources?

What are the issues faced today by transition/developing countries in the matter of going green? What are the best practices in achieving greater usage of green energy, raising awareness in recycling process and providing more green jobs? How can South-South Cooperation influence this goal positively?

Participants representing governments, civil society and private companies will join us to discuss and exchange views on this issue.

May will be also a month with interesting activities focused on global issues as journalism, entrepreneurship and green economy.

Dialogue and Be Happy!

The second session of the cycle focused on journalism will allow us to discuss about the limits or opportunities of combining journalism and activism (21 May).

Green economy will also become a topic of discussion between DCs (26 May). This activity led by DC Novi Pazar will allow us to exchange information, views and experiences among countries in transition as Serbia and Brazil.

Moreover, we will launch our cycle of sessions on how entrepreneurship and creative hubs can promote social change. The first session (28 May) will serve as introductory discussion to this issue. The following sessions will focus on research, manager´s competences, good practices and networking opportunities.
