We are delighted to announce a new partnership between Forgotten Diaries and Dialogue Cafe!

Forgotten Diaries is a unique project which aims to raise awareness of the several under-reported “forgotten” conflicts currently occurring around the world and empower young people living in these zones with the skills and tools they need to start and grow community development and peace building projects. Their unique and innovative approach involves the use of a dedicated web platform which connects up to five young bloggers from each of 13 ‘forgotten’ conflict zones around the world, allowing them to share their stories and present a human face to each crisis. Furthermore, they empower youth from forgotten conflict and post-conflict zones through mentoring, training and grants to start youth-led community peacebuilding projects.

Their site has already received tens of thousands of visits and won praise from organizations including the Pulitzer Centre, Oxfam and Microsoft.

Forgotten Diaries was recently awarded the prestigious World Summit Youth Award. 630 applications were received from over 100 countries and Forgotten Diaries was selected as one of three winning projects for the category “Pursue Truth”. The World Summit Youth Award seeks to recognize and promote highly innovative youth-led projects which use digital and online content in a creative manner to work towards improving living conditions in developing nations and achieve the UN’s Millennium Development Goals.

We are delighted to announce this new partnership and are hoping to showcase some of the fantastic work being done by Forgotten Diaries at Dialogue Cafe soon!
