Today from 13h30 to 15h30 we are joined by Aid Global (Portugal) and Ação da Cidadania contra a Fome, a Miséria e pela Vida. The two organisations will be sharing experiences and discussing some of the biggest humanitarian challenges they currently face. Come and join us at MUDE or UCAM!

“Democracy and poverty are incompatible”, wrote the sociologist Herbert de Souza, “Betinho”, in 1993, launching Ação da Cidadania as one of the most creative, innovative and important social movements in Brazil. Among its objectives are the promotion of the mobilisation of all segments of Brazilian society in finding solutions to the issues of hunger and misery in order to realise the dream of a country without hunger, without poverty, where everyone has rights of citizenship, where justice is more than one word and that social integration is more fact than rhetoric.
